FLY Football season underway

LEWISTON - Opening week summary from FLY Football at Lewiston Athletic Park:

Lisbon St. Getty Mart Senior Redskins 21, Bath Iron Works Senior Steelers 7: Jeffrey Clark Jr. scored twice and Joey Gonzalez punched in the final touchdown as the 'Skins sidetracked the defending champions. Lily Fundis, Aldean Porter and Chad Dumais provided key blocks for Gonzalez, who also added a two-point conversion on a pass from Chad Hinkley. On defense, Clark had three sacks and a fumble recovery, while Brendan Duguay, William Adams, Ryan Jones, Joey Gonzalez and Jason Gonzalez each contributed an interception. Curtis Kaplinger scored the Steelers' TD on a 55-yard reception. Shammond Thomas (two sacks), Kyle Morin and Kaplinger led the Steelers' defense.

Twins Variety Senior Giants 19, Sam Francis State Farm Senior Lions 13: Colin Mannon set the tone with a fumble return for a TD. Zach Abisalih also contributed multiple tackles for losses. Josh Knight threw the game-winning TD to Quintarian Brown in OT. Isaiah Harris scored a TD for the Lions behind blocks from Carter Remeika, Ka'mari Schnitker and Andrew Mokumbi. Elijah Harris led the defense.

Sabattus Disc Golf Junior Steelers 22, Gee & Bee Junior Redskins 0: Garrett Poussard scored two TDs and Bryan Wagg also fueled the offense for the Steelers. Latrell Thomas and Ben Bolduc made big stops to preserve the shutout. Kenyon Ray led the defending champion Redskins' attack. Adaryan Ray registered several tackles in the Steelers' backfield. Jayden Wilson recovered a fumble.

Softlight Studio Junior Lions 26, Grimmel's Gas-Up Junior Giants 18: Julian Raines rushed for 116 yards, while Josh Kobel added 68 yards and three TDs. Stephan Porter chipped in 61 yards and a score behind the offensive line of Michaela Saucier, Colby Bilodeau, Tyson Cote, Mack Whittier and Durrell Jackson. Jared Rubin (seven tackles), Ricky Cote (four stops), Raines and Desmond Jackson (three tackles and an interception) led the defense. For the Giants, Gage Cote scored twice on runs of 45 and 26 yards, and Brock Ballanger addded a 65-yard TD scamper.

Sunday's games: Senior division, Giants-Redskins, 10 a.m.; Steelers-Lions, 1 p.m. Junior division, Giants-Redskins, 8:30 a.m.; Steelers-Lions, 11:30 a.m.
