LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter and the Central/Western Maine Workforce Investment Board will host a resource fair/open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 15 at its offices at 5 Mollison Way.
For the past six months, the monthly events called Industry Information Tuesday have focused on key industry sectors that job seekers should know about and be aware of.
Next week's event will provide information on resources such as fuel assistance, food resources and other support available in greater Lewiston-Auburn. There will also be opportunities for attendees to learn about available job skills training resources.
CareerCenters are a resource for area businesses, providing assistance with recruitment, retention, and employee training, all at no cost to employers. CareerCenter staff will be available to speak with business representatives about a variety tools and resources that will most efficiently and effectively meet their work force needs.
For more information, contact Jim Baumer, director of Business Services for the Central/Western Maine Workforce Investment Board at 753-9026, or Mary LaFontaine, manager of the Lewiston CareerCenter at 753-9094.
