Police: Killing details suggest ritual

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine's largest city say items at the scene of the death of a woman who was strangled, decapitated and set afire in June are suggestive of a ritual.

Newly unsealed court affidavits indicate defendant Chad Gurney placed a crucifix and other items on and around the victim's body before setting a fire in his Portland apartment.

The Portland Press Herald says Gurney admitted during a 10-hour interview to buying $2.50 worth of gasoline and using it ignite the victim's body.

The 28-year-old Gurney is charged with murder and arson in the killing of Zoe Sarnacki of South Portland on Memorial Day. He's using an insanity defense.

The killing happened two days before Gurney was to fly to Thailand. Gurney's best friend told police Gurney considered himself "some type of 'prophet."'

look! Tron called me a

look! Tron called me a bigot! oh noze!

Tron, after you get done whining about how you NEVER said i was a bigot how about explaining how from this little clip of the story anyone could reasonably conclude that there was "A RITUALISTIC CHRISTIAN KILLING!"

I suppose I could give candiceanne the benefit of the doubt and just say how she's being overly absurd but that would require a belief that she's doing it to paint Christian in a poor light to gain support for gay marriage.

So Tron, if you can provide a reasoned path to "A RITUALISTIC CHRISTIAN KILLING" from what little information is in the story I'll retract the bigot charge.

If you can't I expect you to retract yours.

Gosh Tron, you haven't given me credit for anything. Why would you start now? Especially since you've challenged my "expertise" on the subject in the past.

Keep trying Tron, one day you might win one.
