CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Carrabassett Valley Police Department is currently investigating a break-in at the home of Olympic snowboard cross gold medalist Seth Wescott.

The incident is believed to have happened sometime in September when Wescott was out of the country, Police Chief Scott Nichols said.

Digital videos filmed by Wescott and hard drives were taken. Although there is no monetary value to the property, the items were of extreme importance to Wescott, he said.

Police have investigated the scene and are conducting interviews. They also ask that anyone with information regarding the location of the stolen items to contact Chief Nichols or Sgt. Randy Walker at 237-3200.

Wescott won his gold medal during the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
