Wake up, people

Published on Friday, Oct 16, 2009 at 1:01 am | Last updated on Friday, Oct 16, 2009 at 1:01 am 15 Comments

I have seen a young man die with lumps the size of egg yolks all over his body. We loved him and prayed for him, but he died anyway. How can anyone want their children growing up with the idea that it's a healthy lifestyle for two people of the same sex to have sex?

Such ideas will happen in the future; it's already being taught in schools in Massachusetts that it's OK.

If God had wanted that to be, he would have told us.

Gays are living in mortal sin and Satan is working to destroy the sanctity and the sacrament of marriage. The word "sin" is seldom mentioned in churches and on television; they don't want to offend anyone. So now, people have forgotten that sin does exist and anything goes, especially with the younger generation.

Anyone voting "no" on Question 1 is encouraging homosexuality.

It is time to take a stand and stop the same-sex marriage movement. There are other options to take without destroying the sanctity of marriage and infringing on other people's principles just to protect their rights.

Those who will still vote "no" on Question 1 will have to explain that to God. "Oh, I didn't realize ..." won't cut it.

Think about it.

Normand Boulay Sr., Lewiston

Mr. Boulay---In this world,

Mr. Boulay---In this world, HIV/AIDS afflicts more heterosexuals (by a huge margin!) than homosexuals. We love them (heterosexuals) and pray for them, but they die anyway. How can anyone want their children growing up with the idea that it's a healthy lifestyle for two people of the opposite sex to have sex?

“We establish no religion

“We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief. Nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate. All are free to believe or not believe, all are free to practice a faith or not, and those who believe are free and should be free, to speak of and act on their belief. At the same time as our constitution prohibits state religion, establishment of it protects the free exercise of all religions. And walking this fine line requires government to be strictly neutral.”

Scotty O says: "You don't

Scotty O says: "You don't see us stoning people in Kennedy park, you don't see us beating women in the streets with sticks."
Actually, Scotty, yes we do: "Robert Hannah, 19, has been sentenced to a mere 180 days in jail for the September 2008 murder of Washington, DC resident Toby Hunter.
Tony Randolph Hunter died several days after being punched in the head by Robert Hannah, 19. The incident happened on September 10th 2008. As Hunter fell, he hit his head on the pavement, causing a fatal brain injury. The victim and a friend were on their way to a local gay bar."

Oh, so there's a Catholic

Oh, so there's a Catholic Gang in Washington D.C.? What are they called, the Holy Motherf'ers. Now your not only compairing us to the Taliban and Iranians, but to common street thugs. Use some common sense when you post, would you. Here's the article link that you are refering to: http://www.washblade.com/2009/10-16/news/localnews/15376.cfm . Now I know why the this article refers to egg yolk, cause theres some on your face.

You vote No'ers are some of

You vote No'ers are some of the biggest haters here. Catholics do not hate the individual, but dissent against their lifestyle. Yet you compare us to the Taliban and Iranians who want us all dead, gay/straight/catholic/atheist or otherwise. You don't see us stoning people in Kennedy park, you don't see us beating women in the streets with sticks because they let out a little chuckle. We're not perfect, but who is?

Wow. I guess your argument

Wow.
I guess your argument would hold water if only homosexuals died of egg yolks or whatever the heck you're talking about. No, that's not true either. Your viewpoint is based on nothing other than ignorance (of society, of nature and of the Bible) and fear (of change, of things you don't understand, and of knowledge.)
Let God deal with the sinners you hate so much. He can handle it. Jesus told us to love one another and to be tolerant of others. How can you miss that?

Very, very good letter Mr.

Very, very good letter Mr. Boulay. Homosexuals do not live as long as because of the diseases they get.
How dare they take God out of the schools and allow young children to learn about homosexuality in school. Parents are responsible to teach their children about different life styles, school should teach the ABC"s etc. I'm sure that when the report cards are given out, homosexuality won't be graded.
Homosexuals have all the rights they need, civil unions are one, just like us, they can have wills made out for their requests, put their signicant other as beneficiary for their insurance, 401's, bank books, and whatever.

Wow, and to think that I got a warning from the SJ for stating the fact that most modern terrorists are Muslim?! They think THIS is fit for print? See, yes on 1 people? Take a good look in the mirror at what you really are.... frightened, hateful, little cowards.
