LEWISTON - Lisbon Street Getty Mart Sr. Redskins finished the regular season with a convincing 28-7 victory over Sam Francis State Farm Sr. Lions. Jeffrey Clark Jr. was the offensive workhorse, finishing with 240 yards and touchdown runs of 7, 57, 53 and 68 yards. Jason Gonzalez and Ryan Jones each cashed in extra points, and Joey Gonzalez caught a two-point conversion pass from Chad Hinkley.

The Redskins' offensive line played well throughout. Lily Fundis (11 tackles, fumble recovery), William Adams (six tackles, quarterback sack) and Joey Gonzalez (eight tackles, sack) led the defensive charge. Jason Gonzalez forced three fumbles, while Aldean Porter registered an interception and a fumble recovery. Playing well in the loss for the Lions were Darius Phillips, Nick Harnden, Carter Remeika and Josh Mays. Tim Robertson picked up a muffed kickoff and ran it in for the Lions' lone score.

In the other Senior contest, Twin's Variety Giants ran their record to 5-1 with an authoritative 34-6 triumph over the Bath Iron Works Steelers. Ben Howell started the scoring with a 32-yard run. Ryan Bell caught the ensuing two-point pass. On the next series, Quintarian Brown broke off a 70-yard TD run. Eli Cady also scored from four yards out for the Giants.

Josh Knight and Alex Demers shared the QB spot and led the offense behind the line of Kevin Dillingham, Cady, Zach Abisalih, Kody Voisine, Tanner Pitman, Colin Mannon and Logan Lavoie. The Giants defense also found the end zone twice. Knight picked up a fumble and returned it 45 yards, and Gabe Nichols returned an interception 50 yards for the final TD. Howell, Abisalih, Brown, Lavoie and Cady shone defensively as multiple tacklers. Eddie Emerson rushed for 61 yards and a TD to lead the Steelers. James Flynn added 65 all-purpose yards as a receiver and returner. Shammond Thomas and Emerson each made four tackles.

The Grimmel's Gas-Up Jr. Giants finished their regular season with a 13-12 verdict over Sabattus Disc Golf Jr. Steelers. Gage Cote ran the ball nine times for 135 yards and two TDs. Brock Belanger added 65 yards and a conversion behind the blocking of Tanner Sturgis, Chris Dillingham and Sheldon Landry. Cote led the defense with eight tackles and a key stop on a Steelers extra-point try. Caden Begos (six tackles) and Eddie Turgeon (four tackles) also were tough along with Nate Osgood, Belanger, Noah Jalbert and Thomas Brochu (three stops each).

Turgeon came up big on special teams when he recovered an onside kick. For the Steelers, Garrett Poussard and Jaznel Burns each scored TDs, aided by the blocking of Jacob Morin and Bryan Wagg. Ben Bolduc and Wagg led the Steelers defense. Deon Sands recovered an onside kick.

Softlight Studios Jr. Lions capped the regular season with a 27-0 shutout of Gee & Bee Jr. Redskins. Desmond Jackson, Stefan Porter, Josh Kobel and Julian Raines all found paydirt for the Lions behind a solid effort from the entire offensive line. Durrell Jackson, Kobel and Raines all converted extra-point attempts. Davion Jackson, Austin Heath, Michaela Saucier, Dylon Jackson, Jared Rubin and Zach Martin were defensive standouts.

For the Redskins, the backfield of Christian Fowler, Tanner Cortes, Adaryan Ray and Colby Desjardins combined for more than 100 yards. Jayden Wilson, Michael Samboy and Owen Chamberlain also played well on offense. Fowler led the defense with seven tackles, while Keyshawn Green, Grant Hartley and Damon Gagne each registered five stops. Also coming up big for the Redskins defense were Desjardins, Cortes, John Mathon Jr., Kenyon Ray, Gordon Beckwith and Evan Williams.

Auburn Rec Grade 8 trounces Mountain Valley

AUBURN - Auburn Recreation eighth-grade football defeated Mountain Valley Middle School, 30-6, in this week's tilt. Brandon Knowlton threw a touchdown pass to Caleb Spruill for Auburn, while Gage St. Hilaire and Corey Henderson also added TDs for Auburn. Brian Crane and Isaac Lane led a tough Auburn defense. This sets up a key battle of undefeated teams at Walton Field Saturday night when Auburn takes on Mt. Blue.

In the seventh-grade game, Poland defeated Auburn, 24-0. Ian Milekis led Auburn on the ground and through the air.

Grade 3-4 action saw AYF Steelers defeat Auburn Yellow, 30-0. Cam Turner had two touchdowns for AYF, while teammates Cooper Chiasson and Ethan Bryant also had touchdowns. Kyle Herald was the leading ground gainer for Auburn Yellow. Devaunte Rembert led Auburn's defense.

AYF Oilers defeated Auburn Blue, 22-6. Curtis Gauvin scored three touchdowns for the Oilers, who were led on defense by Andrew Weston. Max Bell had the touchdown for Auburn Blue. Bell also completed a 41-yard pass to Caleb Yarnevich. Quentin Woods led the Auburn Blue team in tackles.

AYF 49ers defeated Auburn Red, 33-0, in Grade 5-6 action. Savin Arsenault scored on a 51-yard touchdown pass from Riley Robinson. Alex Ridley returned an interception 25 yards for the 49ers. Matt Verrill and Gage Dalphonse were leading ground gainers for Auburn Red. Alex Cook paced Red's defense.

The winning ways continued for AYF with the Falcons' 26-6 victory over Auburn White. Kyle Farrar scored three touchdowns for the Falcons, while teammate Riley Flynn added one TD. Ty Howard led the Falcons defense from the nose guard position. C.J. Jipson scored the lone Auburn White touchdown on a 22-yard run. Drew Lashua and Noah Yarnevich led the Auburn ground attack. Jack Coyne was the defensive standout for Auburn. 

Demons dismiss Oxford Hills

LEWISTON - Lewiston Middle School Demons football broke into the win column with a 22-6 triumph over Oxford Hills.

QB Brady Whetzel hit Matt Hudson with a 30-yard TD pass in the first quarter to get the Demons rolling. Later in the half, after two apparent scores were nullified by penalties, Jacob Kendall ran to the outside for 35-yard score. Hudson rushed for the two-point conversion and a 14-0 halftime lead.

Oxford Hills opened the second half with a seven-play scoring drive. The conversion attempt failed.

Whetzel later pitched to Kendall for a 25-yard TD run on fourth-and-9. Hudson's conversion run completed the scoring.

Lewiston's defense played a stellar game with Gabe Johnson, Dakota Withee, Ethan Melvin and Nicholas Perrault leading the way.
