Annual drawdown on Sabattus Lake started

SABATTUS — The Sabattus Lake Dam Commission opened the Sabattus dam Sunday.

According to Commission Chairman Walter White, the annual drawdown will lower the water level about 4 feet within the next three weeks.

Lakeside property owners who still have their boats in the water should take measures to remove those boats to avoid damage during the drawdown.
