GRAY — Police identified a man who was found dead Tuesday in Little Sebago Lake and said he suffered a heart attack.
A spokesman from Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that Berrie Hackett, 78, of 310 Westwood Drive, Gray, died of cardiac arrest, according to the Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Hackett's unresponsive body was found at about 2 p.m. Tuesday lying facedown in shallow water not far from his home. His longtime girlfriend discovered the body and notified authorities. She had been looking for him when he failed to return from a row to a nearby island to check on some recent property damage.
