She was born in Leeds, Dec. 29, 1918, the daughter of Alton and Dorothy Knapp Grover. She was educated in the Leeds school system. She married Herbert Willis Hartford on June 5, 1941.
She was an avid harness racing fan and loved to discuss politics. She enjoyed beano and was a fanatic Red Sox fan. At one time, she owned her own trucking company and rental property. She enjoyed family visits with children, grandchildren and close friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail S. Rea; her son, Forrest H. Hartford; six grandchildren, Lizabeth Dickey, Paul David Rea III, Herbert Rea, Sharon Asselin, Donna Chambers and Lisa McNutt; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; two sisters; and three brothers.
We would like to extend our special thanks to the wonderful staff at Clover Manor for all of their kind and loving care for our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
