HS football: Weekend outlook

Cony (3-3) at Lewiston (4-2)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Devils remain in the running for a first-round home playoff game. But they'd better not fall asleep on the Rams, who have learned how to win the close ones this year.

Edward Little (1-5) at Mt. Ararat (1-5)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Might sound crazy, but the winner is alive and well in pursuit of a postseason berth.

Oxford Hills (1-5) at Brunswick (5-1)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Vikings hope this trip to the midcoast is inspired as the last one, a win at Mt. Ararat.

Brewer (1-5) at Mt. Blue (1-5)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Young Cougars have given the PTC's top teams fits. Beating Brewer this week and Skowhegan next would give them the chance to administer one more round of heartburn in the playoffs.

Falmouth (3-3) at Mtn. Valley (6-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Falcons' last tuneup for York-Cape yearly double at regular season's end.

Jay (3-3) at Winthrop (3-3)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Winner's in. Loser might need to spring an upset or at least get some help next week.

Poland (0-6) at Wells (4-2)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Knights' two best chances to crack the win column slipped away against Lake Region, Fryeburg.

Lake Region (1-5) at Gray-NG (2-4)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Patriots get a chance to pick on someone their own size this week.

Leavitt (6-0) at Winslow (3-3)

Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

Taking bets on when/if Hornets will call off the dogs.

Traip (2-4) at Lisbon (5-1)

Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

Greyhounds probably earned a couple breathers after Oak Hill, OOB and Yarmouth. But they could use a test like that now with the playoffs looming.

Liv. Falls (5-1) at Oak Hill (4-2)

Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

Game of the Week features what is still the Campbell Conference's highest-scoring offense (Andies) against its second-stingiest defense (Raiders).

Maranacook (3-3) at Dirigo (6-0)

Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

Black Bears' three losses all by a single touchdown. Cougars bound to change that.
