LEWISTON — New Life Community Center will host a free "safe night" Halloween party for children and their parents. The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, in the handicapped accessible gym at 134 College St. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Gil Cote, chairman of the event, said that there will be 10 game booths where children can win "pumpkin money" to buy prizes at the on site "Pumpkin Store." Games will include pin the tail on Donkey Odie, electronic darts, bean bag toss, ring toss, marble game, bounce ball in bucket, horse shoe golf, target practice and golf putting.

There will be a donut contest, guess how many M&M's, decorate your own mask and a costume judging contest. A toddler area, complete with riding toys from the center's Toy Library, will be provided for children younger than 3 years.

Free refreshments will be available throughout the evening. The first 50 children will take home goodie bags and two gift cards will be drawn as door prizes. All are welcome. For more information, contact New Life Community Center at 782-3939.
