GOP head vows to be 'cow' in health care debate

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Describing his current health care position, the national Republican Party chief has mooed like a cow before an audience in Ohio.

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said at the University of Akron Thursday that the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress are trying to overhaul the U.S. health care system too quickly.

Steele vowed that he would be a "cow on the tracks" to stop the momentum until some of his party's cost concerns receive attention.

The GOP leader added: "Moo moo."

Steele also predicts that Republican U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine will join with others in her party when it's time for a final health care vote. Snowe was the lone Republican to vote yes when a bill cleared a Senate committee this week.

it's only been since 1912

it's only been since 1912 when Theodore Roosevelt proposed the U.S. adapt a National 'Single Payer' System...... Which is exactly what is not needed still. Who will the single payer be? The Federal Government. How are they going to pay for it? Through your pockets, you know, the one that libtards believe the insurance companies are in now. The Feds don't have their own money, they only have our money. That's why this stinkhole of a plan has compliance by the use of government force included, because no one in their right mind would willingly pay for the type of service you will get with government run health care. And if you really dislike the deficit we have now, wait until our medical bill comes due. Almost a trillion dollars in 10 years is the conservative estimate. Already the chosen one has spent and advocated spending more than any administration ever and still you lib fools want to pretend that the spending is all the fault of Bush? This is why libs should never, ever, ever be put in charge of anything to do with economics. I Hope You Fail.

All these Republicans are a

All these Republicans are a bunch of whiners that dotn want reform because it will take money out of their pockets. Who, by the way, allowed it to get this bad?? People can afford to take care of their health, meanwhile, these companies have increased their profit by 500% in 10 years. Oh, in the majority of those ten years, which political party was in charge?? Republicans. We have obviously seen what they can do. Snowe did the right thing by seeing what is right, no matter what (letter) goes next to her name.

Its not unusual to find a politician who has sold out for a few pieces of silver.
His party has increased the natioanl debt from < 1 trillion dollars to 12 trillion most in just the last 8 years. Please explain to us your cost concerns Mr. Steele! What he really is concerned about is that someone might finally get the insurance companies' hands out of our pockets. Only they and major league baseball are exempt from anti-trust laws. Only they don't have to play by the rules.
