TABOR II's impact on Maine's people topic of panel discussion

FARMINGTON — A panel discussion titled "TABOR II: Impact on Maine and Its People" begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the Education Center lobby on High Street at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The public is welcome to attend the discussion, viewed on a large screen as it is live-streamed from the University of Maine at Orono.

The panelists, who are professionals in Maine's business, education and social services sectors, will explore the far-reaching impact that TABOR II (question 4 on the Maine November referendum ballot) would have on education, the work force, and social and health services in Maine.

The UMF chapter of the Student Education Association of Maine and UMF SEA-Change are co-sponsoring the event.

Featured speakers on the TABOR II panel are Christopher St. John, executive director, Maine Center for Economic Policy; Geoff Gratwick, councilor, city of Bangor; Michelle Beal, town manager of Ellsworth; John Hanson, executive director, Maine State Building and Construction Trades Council; Dr. Sandy Butler, University of Maine School of Social Work; and Marie Frizzell, vice president, Student Education Association of Maine, Orono.
