Governor: Maine housing projects grow jobs

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Gov. John Baldacci says that three affordable-housing developments in Maine are creating nearly 300 jobs.

Speaking at a housing conference Monday, Baldacci said developments in Augusta and Houlton are generating about 175 jobs. A new seniors' housing development scheduled to start soon in Bangor will employ about 120 people.

The Maine Affordable Housing Conference at the Augusta Civic Center highlighted innovations to address housing issues during the recession. Maine housing programs have been fueled in part by national stimulus funding.

Bald-Archie is a joke. More public funded housing developments mean more folks loking for a free ride and welfare benefits will be headed here to occupy them. We already have the largest Somali population anywhere. Probably including Somalia. Catholic Charities & Liberal Democrats have changed our state from the way it should be to a state where intelligent people no longer want to be.

So does this means that our nanny state status is actually creating some jobs for a change?
