Check the facts
This is not so much a letter to the editor as it is an observation. I am writing about TABOR and the ads running on TV.
I was reading a column in the Colorado Springs Gazette. The first couple of lines read, "Apparently, Colorado is a Third World dive — a place of suffering, poverty, illness and illiteracy. That's the tone of the message a handful of Colorado politicians have delivered in Maine, where voters will decide in November whether to adopt a Taxpayers Bill of Rights citizen initiative.
When it comes to any political ad, people should never believe anything it claims. They need to check the facts before deciding. That applies to both sides of any issue.
By the way, I support TABOR. I hope everyone does, too.

People just don't see the child abuse or live their own personal lives with blinders on. It is an amazingly brisk example if their daughters had been raped, were with child, and committed suicide without consoling from DHHS would they want it more or just ignore it and bury it? I think the broad examples here provide the truth if polled how people would truly vote. Don't bring up the child abuse, ignore the battered women, and keep it "within" the family.

I think you hit on part of the problem. When you talk about waste and fraud in the Billions, and then trivializing it by converting into a small percentage of the overall budget is being disingenuous. A Billion here and there is still a lot of money.
Trivializing this waste is an illustration of Government inefficiency and contempt for the taxpayer; you wonder why there is opposition to new taxes.
The Government is overreaching, and they are outside their span of control; therefore, we can expect the waste and fraud to continue if not get worse. OBamaCare is simply opens the door to more opportunity.
