As we approach our 60th wedding anniversary, my wife and I have never been harmed in any way by homosexual individuals' or couples' actions or lifestyles. Neither have our siblings, children nor grandchildren.
It seems ironic that the largest group supporting Question 1 by fiat do not allow their pulpit spokesmen to actively participate in the cause they espouse — one man and one woman.
It seems tragic that Catholic church officials should spend more than a quarter of a million dollars in order to deny two people the right to affirm their love, when that amount, given to a charity such as the Good Shepherd Food-Bank would be multiplied three-fold and feed thousands of hungry, needy people.
While none of us may know how Jesus would vote on Question 1, I am confident that, in his loving kindness, he would not condemn or rebuke me when I vote "no" on Question 1.

verified If you knew Jesus, you would know that he said: "But at the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
This was in response to a question he was asked about divorce, but it clearly shows marriage as God intended it.

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." -- Thomas Jefferson in a letter to Colonel Charles Yancey (January 6, 1816)
Heartiest congratulations on your 60th Anniversary! One correction: the Catholic church has now spent well over HALF a million dollars fighting to overturn marriage equaltiy in Maine. "For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'" perhaps this campaign is more important?
Collecting money from people who care about the future of our families and the good of society is hardly taking food out of the mouths of the poor. You forget that the Church's money is freely given by people - for all good purposes, not just the ones that make athiests warm and fuzzy.
