LISBON - The Lisbon Junior Athletic League will be having its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at the MTM Center on School Street. Discussion will include the state of the league, looking at the year-to-date budget and plans for 2010.
LJAL is a non-profit organization supporting youth softball and baseball in Lisbon. Many board positions are open as well as volunteer opportunities. The meeting is a great chance to find out what is available if you would like to be involved but don't know how.

Lewiston Rec holding travel hoop tryouts
LEWISTON - Lewiston Department of Recreation will hold tryouts at Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave., on Thursday, Oct. 29 for the following girls' basketball travel teams:Grades 3-4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Grades 5-6 from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.; Grades 7-8 from 8 to 9 p.m.
Boys' tryouts will be held at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch Street, Monday, Oct. 26 at the following times: Grades 3- 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; and Grades 5-6 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
