PARIS — The following arrests were recorded at the Oxford County Jail:

• Janis A. Sloan, 31, of Porter, Oct. 20, domestic assault, unpaid fines, negotiating a worthless instrument, bail unavailable, Maine State Police.

• Joshua D. Spencer, 24, of West Paris, Oct. 20, operating after suspension, $500 unsecured bail, Oxford Police Department.

• Dustin M. Towers, 21, of Jay, Oct. 21, violation of bail conditions, no bail listed as of Oct. 23, Rumford Police Department.

• Parker C. Erskine, 20, of Rumford, Oct. 21, violation of bail conditions, no bail listed as of Oct. 23, Rumford Police Department.

• Troy W. Masterman, 33, of Paris, Oct. 21, probation violation, no bail listed as of Oct. 23, Probation and Parole.

• Peter Lloyd Cyr, 36, of Canton, Oct. 21, operating under the influence, $500 unsecured bail, Oxford County Sheriff's Office.

• William S. Hill, 46, of Augusta, Oct. 21, Oxford County Superior Court warrant for probation violation, no bail listed as of Oct. 23, transported from Kennebec County.

• Michael Berry Lufkin, 57, of Norway, Oct. 22, violation of bail conditions, no bail listed as of Oct. 23, Norway Police Department.

• Lisa C. Picard, 45, of Dixfield, Oct. 22, domestic assault, $500 unsecured bail, Dixfield Police Department.

• Megan R. Manson, 20, of Paris, Oct. 23, probation violation, no bail listed as of Oct. 23, Paris Police Department.

Notice how many of these are bail condition violations? I wonder what would happen if, instead of being released on bail, they had to pay the jail and had to remain incarcerated?
