Government accountability
As I was watching the news recently, I saw a group of about seven women in Portland holding a press conference to oppose TABOR, Question 4 on the ballot. I think these women were associated somehow with Planned Parenthood. I saw, right behind the woman speaking, another girl with a sign that said "TABOR hurts kids."
I don't understand that sign at all, and frankly, it's just not true. The Taxpayer Bill of Rights will limit government spending, providing real tax relief for the people of Maine. That will allow parents in Maine to keep more of their hard-earned wages and have more money in their budgets to provide for their children.
How, exactly, does more money in parents' pockets hurt their kids?
I will be voting for TABOR this November because I believe that responsible government priorities, lower taxes and government accountability are positive steps that will help Maine back to prosperity. A more prosperous state will help the children to stay in Maine to live, work and raise a family of their own.
I'm voting "yes" on Question 4 in November.

TABOR hurts kids because it
TABOR hurts kids because it reduces needed spending for education. Prop 13 did it in California sending their education rating from first to worst in just a few years. The result was a huge migration of highly educated people from California to Colorado. Where they passed TABOR. Once again Colorado's ranking went from very high to below Maine's inspite of having a much higher percentage of people with college degrees which is one of the best indicators of educational results.
Pass TABOR and we will be the third strike. And our kids, our economy, and the people of Maine will suffer.
