To get an idea of what TABOR II will do to Lewiston, try changing a light bulb with your hands tied behind your back. This is not the time to pass this legislation. Please vote no on Question 4.

Why don't we try facts instead of blind emotion. TABOR does not mean cuts. It still allows the same amount of funds as this year. It simply places the approval for any funds over that in the hands of voters. Colorado did not vote to suspend their version of TABOR, they suspended part of it temporarily. They did. The voters. When the citizens had the chance to vote it out last year, they voted overwhelmingly to keep it in place. School children will not freeze in their classroom, seniors will not starve, fireman and policemen will not be laid off or kept from purchasing new equipment. A freeze on spending is just that, a freeze. No extra money, not a cut in money already provided. Stop with the hype and the lies and actually read and research. Stop acting knee jerk from emotion and try using a little logic and reasoning. Then vote Yes on TABOR II.

Totally disagree with your letter Jay. Under TABOR, governments are going to have access to the same budget they have this year, but increases in those budgets will be more controlled going forward. And if there is a legitimate need for increases higher than the formula limits, governments simply need to make their case and get permission from the voters to spend the additional funds. There will be more local control, not less...voters will decide.
Albrecht, are you saying that anyone who pays taxes but isn't feeding either directly or indirectly off the public teat is a complete idiot? Are you scared of losing your revenue source because useless programs will be eliminated? Guess what, the state's dead broke and whether TABOR II passes or not, it may still happen.
How many Democrats does it take to change a light Bulb??
Answer: 501! 1 to change it and 500 to demonstrate against the coal company that provides the electricity!
Only complete idiots believe TABOR will make Maine better. They just don't want to pay their fair share of taxes. Simple solution. Prevent our elected officials who represent the majority of Mainers from doing their jobs. The supporters of TABOR favor minority rule. They are using the recession and low voter turnout to get their way. Don't let them. Support constitutional government.
Vote No on 4

Jalbrecht is correct, butlets finish the snetence - only INCOMPLETE IDIOTS beleive not passing TABOR will make us better. Vote Yes on 4. Supporters of TABOR actuallt favor majority rule because the citizens wil have to vote on and spending tha is over the allowed amount, andlast time I checked, majority wins, not minority!

TABOR is a simpleton idea trying to solve a very complex problem, hence its popularity with the uninformed voters. Why can't any of the people in favor of TABOR's ideas get elected to the legislature if their idea is so brilliant?
Any problem that can't be solved with taxcuts, republicans pretend doesn't exist.
Tabor will force the state to prioritize where they spend our money. Vote yes and watch some wasteful and useless programs disappear. Many private nonprofit organizations get a large portion of their funding from state grants. This is where spending cuts should start. Not by letting our infrastructure fall apart. We need tabor now. If it doesn't work it can be changed or repealed.
Now here is a brilliant and well thought out approach to government. “If it doesn’t work it can be changed or repealed”. ARE YOU F*%&*@G kidding me, that is what is wrong with this country. You really should have to pass a IQ test in order to vote. Let me guess lead dog your friends told you that right? You should change your name to follow the lead dog! You obviously don’t think for yourself! WOW! NO ON QUESTION #4 and before you get to QUESTION #4 make a stop at QUESTION #2 and vote NO as well.
To Jay: This is not the time to dither. Let's pass Tabor II and tie the hands of those who like to pass costly and sometimes wasteful programs.
You mean like the way taxes are forced upon us by our gov't? Our hands are tied there too.
No Scott, your hands are NOT tied, all you have to do is vote them out of office. It's called a representative democracy, only you seem to have trouble electing like minded people such as yourself, so you're trying to force your will on the rest of us. That's called a dictatorship.
