Turner youth bags moose
On the first day of moose hunting season, Derek Bates, 15, of Turner, bagged a 900-pound moose near Greenville. Bates was guided by Master Maine Guide Michael Morris of Turner. Bates is the son of Lisa Puinch and Duane Bates and the grandson of Les and Martha Bates, all of Turner. He is also the grandson of Noella Landry of Sabattus and the great-grandson of Shirley Lowell of Bethel.
