Vision and leadership

I am honored to support re-election for Lewiston Mayor Larry Gilbert.

For years, Gilbert served Lewiston, from officer to chief to marshal and the boards of the Catholic diocese, Franco Center and St. Mary's. He always exemplifies himself as a true public servant, a passion to serve others.

His life is devoted to service, not power or personal gain. Lewiston is blessed to have someone of his stature, quality and vision step forward, deal with harsh criticism and attacks that come with public service, rise above it and lead us with the class and integrity Lewiston deserves.

Unfortunately, others with nothing positive to offer insult our fine mayor with malicious and false attacks. Lewiston deserves better.

Gilbert's vision and leadership led to the All-America City designation, increased citizen involvement and lower taxes.

On Nov. 3, I'll be thanking Mayor Larry Gilbert with my vote. I hope others will join me.

Jaye Goulet, Lewiston
