Husson 2, Bates 1
BANGOR — Lori Hiltz scored on a penalty stroke with 1:55 remaining in regulation to lift Husson to a 2-1 victory over Bates in collegiate women's soccer action Tuesday.
Jenika Kelley converted a pass from Courtney Allen just 7:15 into the contest to give Husson (6-7) a 1-0 advantage. The Bobcats (1-11) answered in the second half with a goal by Jenna Dannis off a Kelly McManus corner. Dannis scored with a strike from the top left of the circle that ricocheted off Kristen Capen's pad and into the Husson cage 61:40 into the game.
Capen finished with nine saves for Husson to notch the win, while Katie McEnroe and Helena Turner combined for eight saves in net for Bates.
