Burke, Villedrouin rule Lewiston Rec

LEWISTON - Christiane Villedrouin went undefeated in a very competitive division by defeating Leslie Thayer, whoalso was previously undefeated, in the final match of the season to win the Lewiston Recreation Fall Tennis 'A' division championship.Villedrouin prevailed 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). Abby Blaisdell was a close third place, with her only losses to Villedrouin and Thayer.

In the top men's division, it was Mike Burke who went through the entire season without losing a set and dropping only four games. His career record is 72-4 for singles. Runner-up in this division was Scott Gagne by virtue of head-to-head competion with Eric Hall. Gagne defeated Hall 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 in a hard-fought match that lasted three hours.
