WILTON — The Wilton CareerCenter, 865 U.S. Route 2E in Wilton, announces the schedule of workshops for November.

"CareerCenter Employment and Training Orientation," Mondays, 10 a.m.-noon. An explanation of training programs and career exploration. This workshop also provides a brief introduction to the Wilton CareerCenter services.
"CareerCenter and Job Search Orientation (Rea)," Tuesdays, 9 a.m.-noon. An orientation, this presentation offers an overview of what is available to assist people who are looking for work. Attendees can also become registered for the CareerCenter job matching system, at the end of the workshops.
"CareerCenter Youth Orientation," Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-noon. This orientation is for youths ages 16-21 to introduce them to services at the Wilton CareerCenter.
"Resumé Writing," Mondays, 1:30-3 p.m. Explore the basics of resumé and applications and learn what can make a resumé or application stand out. We also cover resumé formatting for online applications.
"Ace That Interview!" Nov. 12, 2:30-4 p.m. Learn how to prepare for a successful job interview. Learn to promote the qualifications that directly match what the employer needs. Be prepared for the "tough" questions and able to answer them with confidence. Obtain tips on how to dress and what to take to the interview.
"MEO-101 — Essentials of College Planning," Nov. 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Instructions on filling out financial aid forms to assist a person in getting the maximum amount in grants or loans. Must preregister for this session by calling 1-800-281-3703.
"Jump-start Your Job Search," Nov. 13, 18, 25; 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Discover how to access the unadvertised job market; get job search, interviewing, and resume and cover letter tips; learn about job training and educational assistance options; and identify your abilities, skills and interests. Please call Joan at 645-5815 to reserve a spot at this workshop.
"O*net Ability Profiler," Call for further information as this workshop requires five or more people for attendance. This is a career exploration tool that helps clients plan work lives using a paper and pencil format with optional apparatus parts and computerized scoring. Results can be used to identify strengths for which more training/education is needed, and to identify occupations that fit their strengths.
"Community College Adviser" — A college adviser is available to talk about options to attend college. He will help explore college choices based on a person's interests and career goals. Call for appointment with Brian Wallace at 1-207-755-5364.
