SWEDEN — Oxford County Sheriff's deputies, assisted by Maine State Police troopers, responded to the scene of a standoff at a house on Sweden Hill Road on Friday night.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland, the standoff involved "a man having a bad night. It started in Lovell, but he's holed up in Sweden," McCausland said.

Troopers cleared the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m. No further information was available by press time.
