Siblings indicted on robbery charges

PARIS — A grand jury has indicted a brother and sister on robbery and assault charges against a young man in Brownfield earlier this year.

Daniel M. Bokuniewicz, 23, of Misty Lane in Brownfield, and Stephanie A. Bokuniewicz, 26, of West Main Street in Denmark, have each been charged with robbery and two counts of aggravated assault. Stephanie also faces a charge of violation of conditions of release.

According to a report by Deputy Danielle Welch of the Oxford County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Ryan Davenport told police that the two siblings held him down and hit him in the head with a baseball bat at the Brownfield boat launch in the early evening on June 26. Davenport also said they took his keys and cell phone from him and threw them.

Davenport was taken to Bridgton Hospital and later to Central Maine Medical Center. Both Daniel and Stephanie admitted to getting involved in an altercation with Davenport, but Daniel said they had been acting in self-defense and no weapons were used.
