Auburn youth football wraps up campaign

AUBURN - In the last week of Auburn Youth Football in the Grade 5-6 division, Auburn White defeated AYF Falcons, 6-0, in a round-robin format.

C.J. Jipson hit Drew Lashua with a 55-yard touchdown pass, with Lashua making an outstanding catch. Jack Coyne, Noah Yarnevich and Isaac Lapointe led a tough Auburn White defense.

Auburn White played to a 0-0 tie with Turner Titans in its second contest. Bo Norcross made an outstanding game-ending defensive play for Auburn. Coyne was a monster on the defensive line with several bone-crushing hits, and Ridge Servidio also came up big on defense. Jipson hit Lashua for a couple of big pass plays, and Noah Yarnevich was tough up the middle.

The Auburn Red team completed its season with a heartbreaking 13-12 loss to Poland. Auburn Red got touchdowns from QB Matt Verrill and Zach Rideout. Verrill was outstanding for Auburn Red, while Gage Dalphonse was a leading ground gainer. Auburn had a chance to win the game, but the two-point conversion failed. Alex Cook and Cole Butler were defensive standouts for Auburn.

In the Grad3 3-4 division, Auburn Blue ended its season with a 20-6 loss to Monmouth in the Tier 2 championship game. Alex Merchant scored a touchdown in the losing effort. Auburn was led defensively by Merchant, Caled Yarnevich and Justin Theriault.

Auburn Yellow played at Turner in a round robin. Yellow tied AYS Buccaneers, 6-6, on a touchdown by Kyle Herald. The second contest was a 12-0 loss to the Turner Pirates. Isaac Sterling, Kyle Herald and Devaunte Rembert all came up big for Auburn Yellow.

In the championship game of the Grade 7-8 division, Auburn Rec lost to Mt. Blue, 27-6.

Players are reminded to return their equipment to the Auburn Recreation Department on Tuesday or Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m.
