LIVERMORE — Construction on the new transfer station building began Wednesday and is expected to be completed in three weeks, select board administrative assistant Kurt Schaub said.
The new trash compactor will also be installed, he said. He gave the select board an update on the project and on the Norlands Road project during a selectpersons' meeting Monday. Paving on the reconstructed portion of the Norlands Road was to begin Wednesday.
The board also voted to take no action after a brief executive session on the highway foreman's duties with foreman Donald St. Laurent, Schaub said.
According to a published arrest log, St. Laurent of Canton was arrested by Maine State Police in October on a charge of operating under the influence. Schaub declined to say if this was the matter discussed in executive session.
