FARMINGTON — The town's winter parking ordinance takes effect Sunday, Nov. 15. Owners of vehicles parked from midnight to 6 a.m. on any street, public way or town-owned or town-leased parking lot may be fined $20 and/or the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense.
The parking ordinance, which covers Nov. 15 to April 15, provides for the removal of snow during the above hours or during any part of the day when vehicles would block removal of snow. The decision to plow at times other than the night hours is left up to the Public Works director, according to the ordinance.
Town parking lots include the Bjorn parking lot, Park Street parking, the Park-n-Ride lot except for the front 11 spaces, also the town office parking lot, Community Center lot and Broadway Municipal "Kyes Square" parking lot.
