Veterans Day program set for Wednesday
PARIS — The annual Veterans Day program will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Gil Turner, past post commander of the American Legion Post 72, will be this year's master of ceremony. Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Principal Ted Moccia will give the keynote address.
A special performance will be made by Vietnam veteran Al Pelletier who will sing his original song, "The Wisdom That We Gained."
The high school band will play several selections including "God Bless America."
The invocation and benediction will be given by Rev. Don Mayberry of the First Congregational Church in Paris.
The indoor program began about five years ago to accommodate the aging veteran population who found it hard to march in the parade, Turner said.
Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

Come on, yes there are rich republicans. However on the other side of the aisle sit as many rich democrats. None of them know the meaning of poor. The whole system needs a cleanout with fresh faces. Any body in office was elected by money and tons of it. It is time for the people not born with a silver spoon in their mouth to take over. Until people start voting for the outsiders the insiders will be in control. Get out and vote for the real underdogs. The third party candidates. Opps good democrats and republicans can't do that can they.
