FARMINGTON — A Naples woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she stole a pickup truck from a New Vineyard residence on Route 27 earlier that morning.
Franklin County Sheriff's Department were also investigating a possible second stolen vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Farmington Police officer Matt Hunt arrested Ashlea Allen, 21, on a charge of receiving stolen property, she said.
A New Vineyard resident heard the truck start up and alerted another family member who followed the woman until police could catch up with her on Sunny Hill Drive off Route 4 in Farmington, Farmington Police secretary Bonnie Pomeroy said.
According to Hunt's police report, Pomeroy said, Allen was hitchhiking down from Carrabassett Valley and saw the unlocked 1998 Dodge pickup with the keys in it at the New Vineyard residence and took the truck.
Allen also faces additional charges of unauthorized use of property and aggravated criminal mischief in relation to the stolen truck, Franklin County Sheriff's Lt. Niles Yeaton said.
