Victim in Durham crash identified

LEWISTON — Police have identified the person killed in Friday night's crash in Durham as Maxwell Allen, 18, of Durham.
Allen's car struck a power pole on the Quaker Meeting Road and burst into flames. There were no passengers. Reported at 8:20 p.m., the accident knocked out power to several thousand homes while State Police workers reconstructed the crash.

Jill, John and family ... my prayers are with you. Words cannot express my sorrow over your loss of your son.
And Eagle, both adults and teens make errors while driving. And unfortunately, tragic errors sometimes. The Allen family has lost a wonderful young man. Please, everyone who posts here, only condolences are necessary in these comments. A family and community are grieving over this tragic accident. Thank you.

"A combination of speed and driver distraction" This is not always texting, he could've seen a deer on the road and swerved to avoid it. No one will know for sure since there were no witnesses...
