WELD — Three Carthage men were charged Tuesday night in connection with four mailboxes on West Side Road being blown up the evening of July 30, Franklin County Sheriff's Lt. Niles Yeaton said Wednesday.
Jeremy Jackson, 20, Justin Jackson, 20, and Dana Bradbury, 19, admitted their involvement and were issued summons on misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, Yeaton said. They are scheduled to appear in Farmington District Court on Sept. 24.
The charges followed a five-day investigation conducted by Deputy David Rackliffe. Damage to the mailboxes is less than $500, Yeaton said. The homemade bombs were made with household cleaners and other items, Yeaton said. Evidence collected by Rackliffe led to the suspects, who were interviewed by Rackliffe and Deputy David St. Laurent.
The U.S. Postal Service inspector has been contacted about the case.
