Lillian A. Gagne

1936 - 2009

LEWISTON — Lillian A. Gagne, 73, a resident of Hotel Rd., Auburn, died unexpectedly Monday at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side.

 

She was born in Lewiston, June 2, 1936, and raised in Danville, the daughter of George and Vilda (Coffin) Cothran.

 

Together with her husband, Lionel, she owned and operated the former Leo's Variety in Auburn for many years, and most recently she had been employed with Martindale Country Club.

 

Her hobbies included crocheting, puzzles, playing cards with family and she also cherished being a devoted grandmother. She was a hard working, strong woman, and at the end found peace with the Lord.

 

Survivors include one son, John Gagne and his wife, Eden, of Auburn; one daughter, Marie McNally of Parsonsfield; one brother, George Cothran of New Gloucester; four sisters, Marie Blouin of Auburn, Doreen Nadeau of Vassalboro, Judy Hewitt of Auburn and Linda Lawlor of Florida; and three grandchildren, Christina Small, Rochelle McNally, and Ravi Gagne.

 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lionel; one brother, Omer; and one sister, Dorothy.
