Petitions for Maine tax vote challenged

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - An Augusta businessman is challenging the petitions leading to a people's veto vote over the tax reform law enacted by the Maine Legislature last spring.

The Kennebec Journal in Augusta reports that Charles "Wick" Johnson III, owner of Kennebec Technologies in Augusta, filed the challenge in Kennebec County Superior Court.

Earlier this month, state election officials authorized a June referendum on the law, which creates a flat income tax of 6.5 percent, broadens the sales tax to apply to a number of currently untaxed services, and raises the food and lodging tax.

In his appeal, Johnson claims there are enough invalid signatures on the people's veto petitions to force officials to call off the June vote.

Hey Mr Dixfield, YOU

Hey Mr Dixfield, YOU Liberals own ACORN and SEIU, so think about your stupid statement about Republicans! Nothing is MORE corrupt in Barry's Amerika than them!!!!!!!!
Not to mention that Obama makes Nixon look like a Choir Boy!!!!!

If illegal immigrants can vote in Obama, Muslims in other countries can send Barry millions(illegally by gift cards which are not tracked) and ballot stuffing by the SEIU and ACORN is allowed, how can this guy question a vote? I mean, we know live in a land of fairy dust and balloons now. Just live your life and don't worry about the impending Socialism and rationing of EVERYTHING, not just healthcare. See ya in the bread line soon Mr. Dixfield!

You need to really lay off

You need to really lay off the pipe and get a handle on that obsessive disorder that you have that makes you see things so bass-ackwards. Are you really going to accuse Republicans of voter fraud when you have the likes of ACORN on your side? Where do you get your stats from? "their long record of voter fraud, dishonesty, and incompetence" Sounds like the mission statement for ACORN.
"Reasoning with a liberal is like trying to pick up a turd by the clean end. " Pirate

Try the 2000 President race,

Try the 2000 President race, for starters. Of course you'll argue that there was no voter fraud, but then you turn a blind eye to any facts that put republicans in a bad light.

No surprising that someone

No surprising that someone would challenge when the Republicans' could only get 1020 signatures more than needed. Given their long record of voter fraud, dishonesty, and incompetence, finding another few thousand phony signatures should be easy.
