WILTON — The Mt. Blue Christmas Craft Fair keeps growing: This year at least 160 tables will fill the Nichols Expo on the Weld Road on Saturday, organizer Shannon Smith said. The 16th annual fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The junior and senior classes at Mt. Blue High School sponsor the event as a fundraiser for Project Graduation.

People from New Hampshire are staying in local motels in order to show their wares, Smith said. After attending the Blueberry Festival, they asked if they could come for this, too. People were still calling two days before the event that features a wide variety of crafts, foods and other handmade items, she said.

One new product this year is a hummus dessert dip, Smith said. It's something different and great for dipping apples and other fruit.

The students will have a large Chinese auction, including a Christmas tree from Walter Gooley's tree farm and individual classes will sponsor tables featuring pies, fudge, fancy breads, cookies and popcorn.

Entertainment this year will feature John Tercyak, a singer from Bar Harbor and members of Mt. Blue's own singing group, the Syncopations.

C and T Catering, started by Tim and Claudette Merchant, will provide a continental breakfast and light lunch for fair-goers, Smith said.

The fair also will offer free fingerprinting.

Wilton Free Public Library will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Nichols site. Along with lots of children's books, trade fiction and nonfiction, hardcover fiction and cookbooks, new arrivals will be available.
