Man sentenced for dealing drugs charge

FARMINGTON — A Madrid Township man was sentenced Friday in Franklin County Superior Court to five years with all but one year suspended for aggravated trafficking of illegal drugs.

If the case had gone to trial, Assistant District Attorney James Andrews told the court, Brian Ross from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency would have testified that police searched Wing's home at 893 Reeds Mills Road on Nov. 7, 2008, and found 47.8 grams of cocaine, three pounds of marijuana and $4,857 in cash. They also found ledgers and 34 firearms.

Along with the ledgers listing names and amounts, police found small plastic bags coated with white powder on a bureau and baking soda in a drawer. A firearms collector, Wing forfeited all but six of the weapons found.

He was also given a 90-day sentence for violating his condition of release, and it will be served concurrently with the drug trafficking sentence.

Wing's son, Jason Wing, 33, was also sentenced Friday for furnishing illegal drugs.
