NEW GLOUCESTER — Ellie Espling, 36, has announced her candidacy for the Maine House of Representatives for District 105, which includes New Gloucester, Durham and part of Lisbon.

The announcement was made at a social gathering at the historic Locke farmstead in New Gloucester. In attendance were many of Espling's supporters, including Waterville mayor and gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage, state Rep. Susan Austin and House District 110 candidate Gary Foster.

Espling is a Maine native with a degree in business administration from the University of Southern Maine. She serves on the New Gloucester Budget Committee and volunteers as a financial counselor for low-income families. Espling also serves as a volunteer for the First Evangelical Free Church in Westbrook and with her husband, Steve Espling, is raising their four children.

Having been raised in a military family, Espling looks forward to continuing a tradition of service in the Maine Legislature. Espling's focuses will be the concerns of Maine's working families and unraveling the tax and regulatory laws that influence Maine businesses.

In the coming year, Espling will host neighborhood coffee parties to talk to voters about their concerns. She may be reached by joining her Facebook page or by calling 926-6082.

Ever notice that when

Ever notice that when republicans run they fail to mention their affiliation. I understand their shame, but still, shouldn't they be upfront about their intentions?
