NEW SWEDEN(AP) - Maine State Police are cautioning drivers about black ice on roads caused by dense fog and below-freezing temperatures after they contributed to a fatal accident in New Sweden.

State police Sgt. Tom Pelletier said the crash took place on Tuesday morning. Pelletier said 43-year-old Kori Ellis of Mapleton was northbound on Route 161 when she lost control of her Jeep Grand Cherokee and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead from severe trauma at the scene.
