AUGUSTA (AP) - Maine's Department of Environmental Protection has developed a tool it says should help small businesses find information about the state's environmental laws and regulations.

The Small Business Environmental Guide, which is available online, outlines specific business requirements and provides permitting information for startup and existing businesses. It also has contact information if business owners need more assistance.

The DEP says the guide will help businesses understand the laws that are designed to protect Maine's air, land and water.
