After listening to President Barack Obama's explanation for committing 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan, I believe that, regardless of whether this particular plan will produce the desired result, we, as Americans, must continue the fight against the perpetrators of the 9/11 attack.
Our enemies are aware of our growing distaste for this eight-year-old war. We consider them madmen and zealots, but they are not ignorant. They are organized, well-funded and they are looking for an opportunity.
If we fail to respond, choosing rather to adopt the posture of a sitting target, they will eventually find that opportunity and we will pay dearly for this mistake.

"we are becoming a worldwide JOKE."
Sorry, Momof4, but you're the JOKE! America was a sick, sadistic, lost ship at sea with George W. Bush and Republi-CONS at the helm. People across the world used to look at people like YOU, Momof4, and wonder if America was filled with illogical wingnuts. Now, they see an intelligent, honest American President in Barack Obama, and know that people like YOU, Momof4, are simply the most ignorant that America has to offer.
Now, we have a President worthy of the office, Barack Obama.
The twitching rage of the irrational Republican
Hanging around the Palin id**** really gets you down. It’s hard to believe there are this many people in America this ignorant, and so proud to be so. Exhibit A is their utterly predictable reaction when someone tells them, straight up, “You voted for George W. Bush twice, you (blank) up our country, you can’t have it back.”
There are no two single acts in the average American’s engagement in politics more responsible for the current state of our country than the act of voting for George W. Bush, twice. Try naming two bigger things the average American could have done to create the mess that Barack Obama has to clean up. Try it. You can’t.
Here’s how that conversation went whenever we began it yesterday with the Palin m*****. After the initial shock that someone might actually call Republicans on this, the litany begins. All totally predictable, the same every single time, WITHOUT VARIATION, delivered with increasing agitation to the point of twitching rage.
Utterly Predictable Spew of (Fill in) – IT’S THE DEMOCRATS’ FAULT!
George W. Bush took a $6 trillion surplus and turned it into debt as far as the eye can see with a Republican Congress. Then, George W. Bush gave us two unfunded wars, one of his choosing, the other of necessity, both of which he (fill in) up so bad not even Barack Obama may be able to fix the necessary one. Then, he drove the entire economic system to total collapse, like Herbert Hoover on crack, right before he handed it off. You voted twice for that, you (fill in) (fill in). Twice.
That's who a person like you REALLY IS:
Momof4. Are your knuckles sore from dragging them on the floor?
"Obama needed time to see which plan would keep him the most popular and who."
No. PRESIDENT Obama needed time to actually think through options to ensure that the enormous mistakes of an IDIOT like the little retarded blue blood toy cowboy George W. Bush and REPUBLI-CONS would not be compounded.
Do you understand that, Ms. Ignorant?
Obama needed time to see which plan would keep him the most popular and who with. His inexperience is downright scary and we are becoming a worldwide JOKE. He'll probably ship em over in groups of ten anyway....
So momof4
How many of your children have taken the oath of enlistment and are readying themselves to deploy?
Obama wouldn't have needed to consider any plans had your Bushman been a successful CinC.

So do you have the stomach for a 'War Tax' and a draft?
If not, quit bitchin'
We blew this when we had the chance to do it right. Now most of our troops are too damn war weary, and the element of time is way against us.
And which country, historically, has ever succeeded in Afghanistan?
Ask Dr. Brydon.
Or at least find out who he is.

Tron, we had the resources to send to Afghanistan all along, we were just waiting for the Almighty to make up his freakin' mind. You can't just drum up 30,000 troops out of thin air if you don't have them...unless of course you have a draft. Oh, and I can't find flunky college students or 1960 left overs on the street corners holding up their "Stop the War" signs anymore. Where have you guys all gone?
We had more than enough troops to finish that darn thing SEVEN YEARS ago, but your buddy decided to go elsewhere. So don't criticize someone who take s few months to decide something. We should have had "Mission Accomplished" several years ago in Afghanistan.
45 cent - I'm surprised you dithered around writing this when you should have been rushing down to the recruiting office with the attitude you've got.

The almighty? You mean Dubya? How long did it take him to send troops when McKiernan asked for them?

You two are truly pathetic.......First of all, you are assuming that I have not served, and secondly, I agree, Bush should have listened to his Generals, so using tatics from the "I hate Dubya" play book does not give Obama a free pass........Two wrongs do not make a right, but they sure bring out the loons on the left.
So serve again.
Got an anchor tied to your butt?

If I'm called to I will...and yes, I have two anchors "tied to my butt". Liberals and their "I'm rubber your glue" mentality.
Perhaps if we had continued to fight in Afghanistan instead of diverting to a debacle in Iraq, we would be finished with that fight. Alas it was not to be.
