Three-band rock concert coming to Colisee

LEWISTON — A night filled with chart-topping rock is in store for January.

The Androscoggin Bank Colisee will host Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd and Skillet for a 7:30 p.m. concert on Jan. 30. The three bands visit near the midpoint of a two-month, shared East Coast tour. Lewiston is their seventh stop of 15.

Shinedown's influences and performances mix metal and rock. The group has never released a single that peaked lower than No. 5 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.

Puddle of Mudd rocked the radio with five No. 1 singles on the Mainstream Rock list earlier in the decade. Their newest album, "Vol. 4 Songs in the Key of Love and Hate," will release on Dec. 8.

Grammy-nominated Christian rock band Skillet is riding high after a No. 2 debut on the Billboard top 200 for their latest album, "Awake;" their prior album, "Comatose," was certified gold on Nov. 18. Their music has been featured at National Football League games and World Wrestling Entertainment events.

Tickets went on sale Nov. 28 and are still available at the Colisee. They can also be ordered by calling 783-2009 or by visiting the Colisee's Web site at ticketing.thecolisee.com. All tickets are general admission and cost $31.50. Parking is $8 and can be paid in advance.
