EAST DIXFIELD — A purse and gun were reported stolen from a vehicle on Gordon Road on Saturday morning, said Wilton Police Chief Dennis Brown.
The owner of a 2002 GMC truck reported the vehicle was broken into and the purse and a 12-gauge Browning semi-automatic shotgun were taken, Brown said. The estimated cost of the gun was $300.
The purse was later found and recovered by police. It had been thrown out on the side of the road, he said. Nothing appears to be missing from it.
Police continue their investigation of the incident.
