Marceline 'Marcie' O'Brion
1930 - 2010
AUBURN — Marceline R. "Marcie" O'Brion, 80, of Jay, died Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1930, in Claremont, N.H., the daughter of Edward and Laudina (Coulombe) Melcher. She attended and graduated from Claremont, N.H., moving to Maine as a young woman, raising three young children while working at Norwock Shoe in North Jay.
On April 4, 1970, she married Philip O'Brion in Jay. She worked with her husband as the owners of O'Brion's Electronics in Farmington, now known as Lynn-Hom Electronics Radio Shack owned by their children, Linda and Homer.
Marcie was very involved in the Farmington Elks Lodge, with her husband, as a member of the Emblem Club. Through her involvement, she was able to travel throughout the U.S. with her husband, which she enjoyed very much. She was also a member of the Jay Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Phil of Jay; children, Linda Walter and her husband, David, of Readfield, Cheryl Smith and her significant other, Randy Staples, of North Jay and Homer Ambrose and his wife, Louise, of Jay; sister, Theresa Bergeron of Claremont, N.H.; brothers, Edward Melcher and his wife, Angie, of Jay, Robert Melcher and his wife, Rhoda, of Norridgewock and Larry Melcher and his wife, Elaine, of Jay; grandchildren, Jessie Staples of Portland, Tasha Raymond of Jay, Capt. Michael Ouellette of Fort McGuire, N.J., Suzanne Kempton of Strong, Roni Lynn Phillips of Saco, Joshua Ambrose of Somersworth, N.H., and Amanda Ambrose of Jay; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Violet Viotta and her husband, Gino; and a grandson, Corey Smith.
