Hockey skills
OXFORD — As part of a school project, two local high school seniors, David Blaquiere and Cory Ladd, will teach basic skating skills and ice hockey to local youths 18 years old and under. The classes will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 16 and 18, at the Oxford Station community ice rink.
Blaquiere and Ladd will cover good sportsmanship and proper technique of ice hockey play. Youth who wish to participate must bring their own ice skates and hockey sticks.
Valentine's brunch
NORWAY — The Progress Center, 35 Cottage St., will host a Valentine's Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14. The brunch will serve as a fundraiser for the kitchen project, to renovate the existing kitchen at into a community kitchen.
The brunch, prepared with Maine products, will include veggie and egg frittatas, veggie lasagna, breads, French toast prepared with apples, potato soup, blueberry muffins, cranberry breads, biscuits and a vegan salad made with carrots and tofu. Music will be provided by David Lawlor and Neil Lamb, jazz guitarists. Tickets are $30 for a couple or $17 each. To reserve tickets, call Priscilla at 743-8049.
Pancake breakfast
FRYEBURG — The Saco Valley Fire Department will hold its annual pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at the Saco Valley Fire Barn, Route 113, North Fryeburg. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, home fries, coffee and juice. Cost is $5 each person.

Card party
PARIS — The Paris Public Library invites kids and their moms to a card-making activity, using stamps, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17. The program, during school vacation week, will be led by local Stamp Up representative, Kathy Pulsifer.

Supper and dance
SOUTH PARIS — The American Legion Auxiliary will host a supper and dance on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Legion Hall, Church Street. The ham supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by the dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Music will be provided by the Jones Band.
Cost is $12 for the supper and dance; $7 for the supper only; $5 for the dance only.
