No one was seriously hurt Wednesday when a car and van collided on Lisbon Street in Lewiston, causing the car to flip onto its roof.
Police said Raymond Desmarais, 77, of Lisbon, was driving inbound on Lisbon Street at about 10:10 a.m. when his Mercury collided with a van driven by Henry Jones, 71, of Lewiston, who was pulling out of a business lot.
The collision sent both vehicles spinning in the roadway. Desmarais four-door rolled onto its roof but he was not hurt in the wreck, according to a police report. A passenger in his car, 75-year-old Gilberte Desmarais was examined for a complaint of pain.
Neither driver could tell police what led to the crash, according to the police report. The collison remained under investigation Wednesday night.
Damage to Henry's 2005 Chevrolet van was estimated at $1,000; to Desmarais' 1999 Mercury, $3,000.
