LEWISTON — The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce Breakfast program March 11 will feature a presentation by Kathleen Ludgate, regional director of the U. S. Census Bureau, who will speak about the 2010 Census.

The event is sponsored by Andover College and will be held at Martindale Country Club on Beech Hill Road in Auburn at 7:15 a.m. Thursday. Call 783-2249 to reserve a spot. There is a nominal fee for attendance.

Ludgate oversees census activity in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, most of New York state, Rhode Island and Vermont, as well as Puerto Rico. The Boston region encompasses nearly 9 million housing units and more than 3,000 governmental units, including 18 American Indian reservations.

A graduate of Marywood University in Scranton, Pa., Ludgate started her Census Bureau career in 1975. She received the Census Bureau's Bronze Medal in 1991, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Silver Medal in 1998 and the Boston Federal Executive Board Award of Excellence in 2000.

Chamber members in the spotlight this month are The Copy Center, Next Level Business Coaching, Poland Spring Resort and Soft Light Studio.
