PERU — Nomination papers are available for a three-year seat on the Board of Selectmen.
The seat is currently held by veteran Jim Pulsifer. He plans to retire from the board after the June 8 election. Pulsifer, a retired paper mill employee, has served for three years this time around. He was off for about two years, said Town Clerk Vera Parent, then served previously for much of the 1990s and early 2000s.
Those interested in running must gather the signatures of at least 25, and no more than 75, registered voters. The papers must be returned to the town office no later than April 5.
Town office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The person elected will join Selectmen Laurieann Milligan, Tim Holland and Corey Jacques, as well as Rick Vaughn who was elected to finish out a term last month.
Residents may vote during the June 8 state primary election from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the town office.
