FORT KENT — Norma Bryant, 77, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6, in Fort Kent, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Fort Kent, the eldest daughter of Yvonne and Edward Brown. She attended elementary school in Fort Kent and graduated from high school at St. Joseph’s Academy in Portland.
For most of her adult life, she worked in retail sales in the Lewiston-Auburn area. In her late 50s she decided to pursue her dream of a career in nursing. She earned her degree at the CMMC School of Nursing and was a psychiatric nurse at St. Mary’s in Lewiston, until her retirement in 2004.
In her spare time she enjoyed various arts and crafts and the company of a large circle of friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Sturtevant of Fort Kent; her son, Charles Bryant of Lewiston; her sister, Carol Malick of Windsor Locks, Conn.; her brother, Edward Brown of Pompano Beach, Fla.; in-laws, John and Doris Peterson of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Bryant.
